Online OCD and Trauma therapy for women in Rhode Island and Massachusetts

For high-achieving women questioning who they are as they navigate life changes in their careers, relationships, and motherhood.

Your OCD and trauma symptoms have you questioning everything about your life. From your educational journey, to your career, becoming a mom, and the relationships you’ve tried to maintain in between, it seems like who you are now doesn’t line up with who you thought you’d be. And maybe that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

Healing from OCD and trauma means processing the emotions and beliefs hiding underneath the thought spirals.

Especially the ones that sound like:

  • “What if I take this new job and they realize I’m not qualified?”

  • “What if my partner is lying to me about their past?”

  • “My dissertation committee is going to think I faked my research and I’ll never get this degree.”

  • “I shouldn’t have been a mom - I’m not doing enough for my baby.”

  • “What if my friends are just hanging out with me because they feel bad for me?”

  • “What if I’m honest with my friends and they don’t want to be around me anymore?”

Here’s How Online Therapy for OCD and Trauma Can Help

Instead of your OCD and trauma symptoms operating on an endless loop, therapy can help you interrupt these loops so that you can:

  • Stop questioning your thoughts

  • Feel like you are enough

  • Feel safe in your home or around others

  • Stop questioning if your partner is the “one”

  • Stop shaming or blaming yourself for not knowing exactly what your baby needs when they cry

  • Feel confident in your decisions

  • Stop fearing that you’ve somehow tricked people about your competence and qualifications

As an OCD and Trauma Specialist in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, there are a few ways we can work together:

OCD can show up in ways you may not even realize, causing you to doubt yourself more than you know. This can get in the way of relationships, routines, connection, and daily life. The cycle soon starts to repeat itself, and it can feel like there is no way out. I use ERP and ACT to help break this cycle, help you learn to trust yourself, feel more comfortable with the unknown, and get to those underlying fears and beliefs.

Anxiety can hide in plain sight. To the rest of the world, you are doing great. You have it all figured out and somehow manage it all. On the inside, it’s a different story and you often find yourself exhausted to the bone. Together, we work on both managing day-to-day anxiety and understanding what's underneath it.

Trauma shows up in ways you might not expect. This may look like feeling jumpy all the time, having a back up plan at all times, having a back up plan for your back up plan, emotional distance from others, patterns that keep repeating. Using EMDR and trauma-informed approaches, we work at your pace to process and heal from your trauma.

Motherhood can trigger OCD, anxiety, and trauma in ways nobody talks about (even if you’ve been a mom for a while). This often can look like intrusive thoughts that feel terrifying and shameful, questioning everything you do, decision fatigue, avoidance, feeling checked out, or even crashing at the end of the day. You don't have to figure this out alone.

As an OCD and Trauma Specialist in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, I often integrate these methods into my practice:

Therapy is going to look different for everyone, but here are a few different methods that I bring into my practice to best treat you and what you are going through. Together, we will decide what you are ready for, when to start, how to prepare for more intensive work, and how to take care of yourself in between sessions.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) is a powerful, research-backed approach to healing trauma by allowing you to go into memories, heal, and process those experiences in a safe and meaningful way at your own pace. We always take time to regulate your nervous system throughout each session to make sure you and your body feel safe.

Exposure and Response Prevention therapy (ERP) is often considered the gold-standard treatment for OCD. At the root of it, ERP uses exposures to help learn how to respond to obsessions and intrusive thoughts in a helpful way. The response prevention piece is the key to help you relearn how to deal with anxiety in a different way. We always start slow and meet you where you are at.

Traditional Talk Therapy

Sometimes we need a safe and private space to process what is going on in our daily lives, learn more about ourselves, or process through anxiety, trauma, or the complexities of motherhood. Traditional talk therapy can be a powerful tool to connect with yourself, go deeper into understanding yourself and your relationships, and give you a space for you.

Hi! I’m Stephanie, a licensed therapist specializing in OCD, anxiety, trauma, and postpartum mental health in Rhode Island and Massachusetts

While reducing symptoms is important, therapy is about more than just feeling better. Whether we're working on OCD, anxiety, or trauma, I'm interested in understanding what's happening underneath the surface.

Often there's fear, self-doubt, painful experiences, or patterns that have been shaping the way you see yourself, your relationships, and the world for a long time. Together, we'll work toward relief from the things that are keeping you stuck while also building a deeper understanding of yourself, more confidence in who you are, and more meaningful relationships with the people around you.

Step 1: Book a free consult

Fill out the contact form and I'll be in touch within 1–2 business days to schedule your free 15-minute consultation.

Step 2: Schedule your first session

On our free consultation call, you share what's going on and I explain how I work. Together we decide if it feels like a good fit.

Step 3: Our first session

This is where we get to start doing the real work. We go at your pace and come up with a plan together that feels challenging but not overwhelming.

You don't have to keep living like this.

We’ll work together towards a quieter mind, more confidence in your decisions, actually enjoying the smaller things, and creating (or getting back to) a life that finally feels like yours.
